Alexandra Park Dog Walking is great fun.
Alexandra park is in a beautiful valley in Hastings. At the top of the park (north end) There is a large reservoir and “Old Roar Gill’ which is now a Local Nature Reserve. The reservoir feeds a stream down to well maintained gardens and open areas.
Much of the upper part of the park is natural woodland. As you move down through the park there is a cute miniature railway that kids will love. Its mainly open at weekends.
Keep going down to beautifully maintained gardens and the open areas of the park where you will find the cafe, tennis courts and bowling green. The cafe is dog friendly and provide water for doggies to drink.
On the west side of the park is a large large lake that feeds a beautiful stream down through more wooded areas to the fishing lakes.
Technically I’m note sure if they are lakes or ponds. Well, they contain loads of water, so you decide.
We love walking our dogs here. They enjoy exploring all the different aspects of the park. On hot days is stays remarkably cool.
The lower part of the park has restricted times that dogs can be walked off lead.
There are many places to park your car. All the roads around the park are free and there is also a free car park.
