Winchelsea Beach – Dog Walking – What an amazing place. We love walking our doggies here
You are spoilt for choice with free car parking. There is Pett Level (Far east side) and Dogs Hill Road.
Both are free to use. You may find Dogs Hill Road is a little cramp in the summer.
Winchelsea beach is a pebble beach, but at low tide it exposed the rocks (made from clay) and miles of golden sand.
Top Tip….. Time it when the tide is out! There can be muddy / clay areas that are really unpleasant. If you hit one of these its easy to wash it off in the sea or one of the rock pools. The rocks can be very slippery – so be cardeful.
Places to Eat
So after you have been lout walking your dog all morning try one of these dog friendly places to eat, drink and relax..
The Ship – Modern restaurant and Deli. Fantastic beer garden and delicious Sunday roast. Limited Parking
The Smugglers Inn – =Traditional English pub. Nice beer garden.
The Red Pig – This a a food truck that is there weekends only and some bank holidays. My favourite place to eat. It has a limited menu but all their food is delicious.
Winchelsea Beach – Dog Walking
This really is one of our favourite places to walk the dogs. However we only ever go there at low tide. The rest of the time its not the best place to walk dogs.
At Low tide you will be able to find the remains of ancient trees. They are around 5,200 years BC old.
Birch, oak, hazel and saplings have been spotted standing in the sand. If you are lucky you may find a hazelnuts that is 5,200 years old.
